Regulation on President Scholarship for International Students of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics
The President Scholarship for International Students of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (hereinafter referred to as SWUFE) is set to enhance the friendship between Chinese people and other people from all countries, promote world-wide exchanges of economy and culture, encourage and help those international students, who perform well both morally and academically, and learn diligently to form a positive learning environment.
The Scholarship is for:
International students who wish to pursue or are undertaking a degree program at SWUFE. Applicants must meet the following conditions:
1. Applicants must be healthy, excellent in character and learning;
2. Applicants are no more than 30 years of age, 35 years of age, 40 years of age for bachelor's degree, Master's degree, PhD applicants respectively;
3. Applicants are not sponsored by any other scholarship.
Scholarship Details:
1. As same as Chinese Scholarship Council’ scholarship, the president scholarship is composed of Full Scholarship and Partial Scholarship.
2. Full Scholarship includes tuition, accommodation, living allowance, outpatient medical services and international student comprehensive medical insurance. Details are as follows:
3. Tuition: RMB16600/academic year for bachelor students, RMB20750/ academic year for master students and RMB24900/ academic year for PhD students.
4. Living allowance: RMB1200/month for bachelor students, RMB1500/month for master students and RMB1800/month for PhD students.
5. Partial Scholarship includes tuition.
6. Availability of scholarship is merit base.

How to Apply:
1. International students who are applying for admission to the degree programs of SWUFE may complete International Students Application Form of President Scholarship of SWUFE, and submit together with Application fee receipt copy and the admission application materials to CIE.
2. Agents authorized formally by CIE.
3. International students undertaking degree programs of SWUFE may complete International Students Application Form of President Scholarship of SWUFE, and submit together with supplementary materials such as transcripts, certificates of awards, letters of recommendation, and publications to CIE.
4. International Students Application Form of President Scholarship of SWUFE can be downloaded on the website of CIE of SWUFE: http://international.swufe.edu.cn/ or from the attachment.
Language requirement:
Language of instruction in Chinese: HSK 4
Language of instruction in English: IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 70 for bachelor; IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 for Master and PhD
Application Deadline:
Autumn term: Applications are accepted before April 30 each year
Spring term: Applications are accepted before October 31 each year
Review Procedure:
Autumn term: CIE will inform the applicants the decisions before May 31 each year
Spring term: CIE will inform the applicants the decisions before November 30 each year

Notice:
1. The scholarship is applicable on a yearly basis. International students who have been granted the scholarship are required to complete the Scholarship Annual Review Form, and submit together with supplementary materials such as transcripts, certificates of awards, letters of recommendation, and publications to CIE before April 30 each year.
2. Different from CSC scholarship, this scholarship does not include transportation fees and one-off settlement subsidy.
3. CIE does not explain any reason to the applicants if the application is not approved.
4. Application fee is not refundable whether the application is approved or not.
5. Language requirements are of minimum and CIE will use the merit principle. The applicants whose first language is English are not required to provide with English language proficiency certificate.
6. CIE reserves the right of final explanation and modification.
7. This English translation is of non-official, in case of discrepancies, the Chinese version is the decisive one.
